An experienced Manufacturing Engineer with a history of successfully supporting and improving metallic fabrication and assembly processes.  This includes but is not limited to, machining, forming, welding, finishing, testing and inspection methods for large ferrous metal machined parts, weldments and mechanical assemblies.  The successful candidate will have demonstrated achievements in the application of continuous improvement methodologies and mastery of lean/6-sigma tools.  This position will also develop and improve manufacturing processes by benchmarking best in class manufacturing methods.  The preferred candidate will have operated in a leading lean organization.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Evaluates & Develops manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of best practice product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, material and soliciting observations and input on improvement opportunities from Operators and equipment vendors.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Creates analytics for production, labor, and material cost optimization.
  • Reviews production schedules and process flow to assure service levels are supported for current and future requirements.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing quality production processes that harmonize with testing and inspection methods to assure established standards and design conformation requirements are met.
  • Prepares production and process control reports to define performance trends and assignable causes of process abnormalities.
  • Prepares quality reports and determines quality improvement parameters by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data, and making recommendations for process and quality improvement.  Create systems and plan production to ensure all products meet quality control standards.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities

Can directly supervise employees in collaboration with Operations Leadership in accordance with Company policies, the Code of Ethical Business Conduct and applicable laws.



Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering



  • Minimum of 5-7 years in factory floor level manufacturing support.
  • Expert knowledge of production processes, cost and quality control, ferrous metal manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in building, coaching and executing Lean/6-Signam methodology.
  • Expert knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.  Specifically with CNC/Manual lathes, drills and MIG welding processes or certifications.
  • Expert ability to design and understand precision parts and their associated blueprints, drawings, models, and CAD designs.
  • Intermediate leadership, supervision skills, dealing with complexity & informing others
  • Intermediate knowledge of product development & presenting technical information
  • Respect for the diverse experience base of our operators and an ability to coach and assist in their development.


Employee must be able to travel 25% of the time.
