Position Summary

The Senior Manager Sales, Operations & Service is responsible for managing and developing the global sales operations, customer service, and field service organizations including functional strategies, management processes, and metrics. The selected candidate for this role can either be based in the TerraSource Global corporate headquarters in St. Louis or in our Belleville, Illinois facility.  This position, which reports to the Vice President, Sales, will continually assess the current situation, determine the optimal coverage needs of the various departments based on the strategy, and ensure processes are developed, trained, and implemented across the teams.  Additionally, this position must create strong alignment and partnerships with the other functions to ensure the needs of TSG portfolio are considered including implementation of any differential service levels necessary to support various customer segments.  Determine any training needs and develop plans to implement the necessary skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Assess and develop the customer service department design, coverage model, and capabilities needed to support the global customer base.
  • Develop and manage the execution of the strategy for the Field Service department to provide a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the asset lifecycle. By delivering highly valued on-site and remote customer support, Field Service will contribute to maximizing profitability through increased aftermarket parts revenues. Additionally, field service must support machine start-up and warranty. 
  • Develop and implement sales operations processes and reporting globally, including sales management processes to drive accountability and performance.
  • Establish and continuously improve the daily management process, compensation, meetings, reporting, and key metrics necessary to hold each team accountable.
  • Achieve customer service team goals for all TerraSource branded parts by aligning to our strategy.
  • Establish the appropriate reporting required from the field, and the reporting the field needs from the office.
  • Develop procedures to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of resources.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance to the Company policies, the Code of Ethical Business Conduct and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education

Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills/Experience

  • Experience: Sales, sales management, sales operations, customer service or field service leadership experience preferred.  Global experience and a history of operating in an environment which is a complex mix of direct sales and indirect sales a plus.  Strong project management experience required.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to assess complex situations and communicate clearly both internally and externally. Ability to interpret and write reports, procedures, business correspondence and effectively present to and respond to questions in front of groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability: Plan and perform a wide variety of duties requiring general knowledge of company policies and procedures applicable within area of responsibilities, and including their application to cases not previously covered.  Requires considerable judgment to work independently toward general results, devising methods, modifying or adapting standard procedures to meet different conditions, making decisions based on precedent and company policies.
  • Demonstrated record of strong managerial skills and the ability to motivate subordinates
  • Demonstrated experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, Salesforce platform preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. passport required
  • Must possess a valid driver's license in state of residence and be insurable under company's motor vehicle insurance policy

Travel

Employee must be able to travel 20-30% of the time.
