Business Analyst

Position Summary

Reporting to the Strategic Business Analyst Manager, the Business Analyst is responsible for understanding business variables through rigorous analysis and sharing this understanding so that business leadership may make fact-based decisions. This role will provide support for financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Conducts sales and margin analysis, including pricing analytics used to manage pricing strategy.
  • Analyzes manufacturing cost performance against quote expectation and standard cost.
  • Analyzes sales order backlog and operational assumptions to prepare a monthly financial forecast.
  • Reporting actual results by comparison to budgets and forecasts.
  • Performs general analysis of finance reports for various departments such as manufacturing, engineering, finance, sales, and marketing.
  • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly presentations.
  • Develop tools for streamlining financial processes and planning.
  • Budgeting including linking strategic plans with financial plan.
  • Forecasting revenues, profits, and cash flow, including development and tracking of metrics.
  • Conduct rep and distributor analytics, supporting the frontend strategy of the business.
  • Performs ad hoc reviews using market data and competitive industry data.
  • Provides insightful and competitive analytics that anticipate change and drive decision making.
  • Apply external perspective and maintain knowledge of the segment's competitive environment, market conditions, customers, and profit drivers.
  • Provide effective and timely financial information, business insights/analytics and business performance evaluations.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Education

Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Accounting or Finance, preferably MBA. Experience with JDE preferred. Additional knowledge with SQL and report writing software is a plus.

Skills/Experience

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Word

Travel

Travel is not required.
