Job Summary: The International Shipping Clerk will be responsible for managing and coordinating the movement of goods across international borders. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of international shipping regulations and procedures. The ideal candidate will ensure timely and accurate delivery of products while maintaining compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process international shipping documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, SLIs, Certificates of Confirmity and packing lists.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and shipping carriers to arrange transportation and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Monitor and track shipments, providing updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, including export controls and customs requirements.
  • Manage and maintain records of all shipping activities, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Communicate with internal departments, such as sales, production, and customer service, to coordinate shipping schedules and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of shipping policies and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Handle and resolve shipping discrepancies, claims, and damages with appropriate parties.
  • Maintain knowledge of current international shipping trends, regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in international shipping or logistics.
  • Strong understanding of international shipping regulations, including INCOTERMS, export controls, and customs procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with shipping software and ERP systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
