Machining Process Manager

Effectively manage machining department to meet production, quality, delivery, and efficiency requirements, maximize profitability and increase customer value. Provide technical assistance to the machining group for problem identification and resolution and process improvement. Proactively manage backlogs, labor and processes to ensure customer delivery requirements are met and overall business costs are improved.

Responsibilities:

• Consistently meet or exceed all production, quality, backlog, and delivery requirements.
• Analyze and establish manufacturing methods, procedures and systems to ensure an efficient operation. Implement purchase of appropriate tooling and equipment where necessary. Develop and implement new product and process technology from conception through implementation, prototyping, testing, tool/equipment/fixtures procurement and implementation.
• Oversee and provide input to the creation of shop floor documentation, including operator instructions. Review all engineering and product design specifications and drawing requirements and the provisions for tooling, equipment, etc., as required. Including input to "g" and "m" code programming of CNCs.
• Effectively represent the company in enforcing company rules, regulations and contractual agreements in keeping with the collective bargaining agreement.
• Actively identify and participate in cost reduction and process improvement programs and teams.
• Select, train, promote and recommend hiring of persons without regard to race, color, religion, sex and national origin.
• Regularly analyze efficiencies and implement methods and manage hourly workforce in a way that improves the numbers.
• Proactively analyze and push open orders and new orders so that all customer delivery requirements are met.
• Ensure departmental cleanliness and organization is maintained by direct labor.

Requirements:

5-10 years' experience or equivalent. Strong background in machining, especially CNC mills and lathes, both programming and operating. Should have strong supervisory skills and be customer service oriented. A team leader with a demonstrated ability to motivate and communicate effectively with production employees and peers.
