Maintenance Manager

SUMMARY

The Maintenance Manager owns the maintenance process for the facility. Oversees the upkeep, repair, and installation of various equipment and elements of our facilities. Primary responsibilities include defining and execution of maintenance procedures, tracking progress, and performing inspections on different facilities to find problems before they arise and executing maintenance actions that maximize operational reliability of the plant.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Build a Total Productive Maintenance program engaging all functions of the organization to minimize downtime and include operators in the active preventative maintenance of equipment
• Negotiate contracts with outside vendors for execution of maintenance work
• Ensure operational efficiency of electrical equipment and mechanical systems through timely inspection and repair
• Ensure that company premises and facilities are kept in clean and hygienic condition
• Implement workplace safety policies and standards
• Participate in daily morning safety & planning meetings.
• Hiring, training, and oversight of maintenance technician
• Coordinates and distributes workload between internal and external resources as appropriate to maintain needed timelines and operational budgets
• Prioritize tasks based on plant needs with the ability to change direction when needed.
• Provide hands on assistance and training as needed.
• Operate mobile equipment needed as in cranes, forklifts, and loaders.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues in equipment.
• Develop and maintain spares inventory.
• Maintain a strong sense of urgency during unplanned outages and repairs.
• Communicate with Operations Leadership and area personnel during outages and projects as needed.
• Lead during hazard assessment projects throughout the plant and track project completion statuses.
• Ensure all lock-out-tag-out procedures, and PPE requirements are followed and appropriate for current industry standards
• Routinely monitor and check on critical systems and routine maintenance plans, and daily PMs.
• Coordinate setup and tear down of equipment for maintenance activity
• Coordinate and/or perform major repairs, construction, fabrication, and installation of new plant equipment
• Work at heights, carry loads up to 70 pounds, climb ladders, stand, crouch, and bend for extended periods of time.
• Work weekends, overtime, and unusual hours during an emergency call-in or if needed.
• Maintain HIPPO CMMS data

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Journey level of experience in electrical and/or mechanical trades.
• Experience with CNC equipment.
• Proven experience with single, three-phase electrical systems and high power.
• Machine troubleshooting experience.
• Use of basic computer programs such as Word and Excel.
• At least four years of fabrication related maintenance experience.
• Compressed air and hydraulic experience.
• Motor and drive installation and alignment experience.
• Motor testing experience.
• Basic welding knowledge.
• Building and grounds maintenance experience
