Quality Assurance Technician

Position Summary

It is the primary responsibility of the Quality Assurance Technician to monitor and maintain a standard of excellence throughout the manufacturing facility. This position will play an active role as the voice of our customer, by strictly adhering to product standards and specifications. You will also be an integral part of the manufacturing process, by effectively assisting with resolving quality issues, as well as identifying opportunities for improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform random sample inspection on materials at various stages of the production process.
• Monitor and maintain calibration of measurement and test equipment.
• Defect tracking and root cause analysis
• Record, inspect and archive capital machinery quality data books.
• Input data into quality tracking system.
• Process and electronically file quality certifications for purchased material.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Technical college, certification in quality inspection or a minimum of 12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

Skills/Experience

• Read and interpret manufacturing prints and drawings.
• Ability to operate small hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret measurement equipment.
• Must demonstrate basic PC skills.
• Knowledge of JD Edwards with respect for inventory control, shop floor control, or equivalent Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
• Proven experience in quality role preferable

Shift

• Ability to support work hours to cover business needs.

Travel

Travel may occasionally be required.
