Risk Manager

Position Summary

Manage overall risk of the business, with responsibility for the following: enterprise risk management, compliance, contract administration, insurance, credit management and customer collections.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Develop, implement and maintain a company wide enterprise risk management process.
  • Ensure the organization's risk management policies and strategies are in compliance with applicable regulations, contracts, state and city laws, and strategic goals of the organization. This includes the customer review and compliance process, and usage of third party software to manage customer compliance.
  • Maintain, update and communicate compliance policies across the organization, including certifications.
  • Maintain legal third-party relationships to facilitate management of business issues.
  • Maintain insurance third-party relationship, annual insurance audit, understanding of policies, and the communication and support of both internal and external user needs.
  • Manages the credit and collection activities of TerraSource, as well as, the investigation of credit risks involving customers. Drives customer collection efforts to minimize past due receivables.
  • Establishes new customer credit limits based upon public and customer provided data, D&B and historical payment history with TSG. Performs credit reviews of existing customers and applies the company credit policy across all customers.
  • Manages order approvals and releases from JDE holds.
  • Defines and enforces credit and collection policy and procedure.
  • Offers suggestions to the CFO to support TSG sales efforts while also improving the key metrics - DSO, working capital, past dues, etc.
  • Completes monthly working capital reports related to AR.
  • Skillful communication with sales team and customers.
  • Handles letter of credit and export documentation for foreign orders for TerraSourceā„¢ Global.
  • Handles import and standby letters of credit for company. Handles procurement of performance bonds for company.
  • Reviews capital contracts for compliance with TSG terms and conditions and develops alternative T's & C's as part of the contract negotiation process.
  • Coordinates with Operations and Sales to ensure timely processing and delivery of capital order documentation as required in the customer contracts.
  • Supports all efforts by Operations, Sales and Engineering to ensure timely completion and transfer of title of all capital equipment to the customer, while protecting TSG assets and minimizing risk.
  • Maintain the accuracy of, and update, the JDE customer address book.
  • Assists with audit requests.
  • Performs testing and conformance procedures for Sarbanes Oxley.
  • Maintains credit card system.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of credit practices including EXIM bank insurance procedures. Complete and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.

Marginal Duties

  • Assists TerraSource Global's CFO with various projects when needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance to the Company policies, the Code of Ethical Business Conduct and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 1


Education

Skills/Experience

Experience: 5 to 7 years related experience


Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.


Reasoning Ability: Use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of set-ups, operations and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures.


Other Skills and Abilities


  • PC and keyboarding skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • Occasional overnight travel required

  • Must possess a valid driver's license in state of residence and be insurable under company's motor vehicle insurance policy
